This. This is what I’ve been missing. A blank page to organize my thoughts, feelings, extreme emotions etc. Sooooooo many things have transpired since the birth of TheUrbanDilemma 2 years ago. My close friend had a baby, I got engaged on Halloween, Moved twice, New Car… – It’s been a lot. All of those things happened just in the last 6 months. Nevermind the happenings I have buried deep in the basement of my mind.
First, I want to highlight my favorite podcasts, “The Read” and “The Friend Zone” for the motivation to live my truth and follow my true passion. Podcasting is an endeavor I wish to challenge myself with. If anybody has taken the time to really understand this blog, it’s obvious podcasting is the proper arena for Th.Ur.Di Blog. I would be remiss not to mention NPR Microphone Check, another podcast that motivates me to be the best hip-hop student. Last but not least, Dr. Angela Brewer’s MyndTalk is probably the most responsible for my new-found courage.
Second, I want to update the “professional life” section of the Th.Ur.Di. Blueprint. In July of 2014 after 5 years of being underwhelmed at my place of employment.. I applied for a higher position, in the same industry.. with our competition. Part of me felt disloyal, but the better part of me felt like “take that, take that.” *Diddy Voice* … It was the best career move I could have made. I was hired, then promoted from Contract Specialist to GSA Compliance Officer within a year, not to mention being selected as a project manager/consultant for our new software program conversion. So guess what? Hard work did pay off. The position I am in currently marries both my (very peculiar) professional experience with my educational background. It’s almost unbelievable.
Stay Tuned. I have a shitload of more shit to share.
